I’m Ali — a published author from Kokkola, Finland, and the founder of Beard Resource. I started the site in 2016 and have written and edited every article on it since.
My background is in process chemistry, which is probably why so much of my writing ends up being about ingredients — what’s actually in beard oils, which compounds have evidence behind them, and which are just marketing.
Over the years I’ve personally tested over 70 beard oils and grooming tools, and used minoxidil on my own beard for several years. When I recommend something on this site, it’s because I’ve used it or examined it closely — and quite often my advice is that you don’t need to buy anything at all.
